One of the better benefits of the new generation NBA 2K21 was the ability to have MyTeam cross-progression between console families. The new generation NBA 2K21 was launched in November, two months after the release of the old generation. Due to the alternating versions, it made sense to allow 2K players to port more than two months of MyTeam’s progress to the next generation, and again to allow users to jump back and forth between the two versions.
But will this function return for NBA 2K22? Both the old and new generations will be launched simultaneously in September, so it’s fair to ask whether MyTeam for the Xbox and PlayStation versions will be standalone or combined. Fortunately, we already have the answer.
After Take-Two officially endorsed NBA 2K22 on July 14, the video game’s publisher provided some answers to some frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the game. IN Frequently Asked Questions, the NBA 2K22 development team answered a question about the cross-process in MyTeam and whether it will be added to NBA 2K22.
The developers said that, in fact, there will be a cross-process between consoles if progress is transferred between the same family of consoles. For example, the progress of the PlayStation 4 MyTeam can be moved to the PS5.
Since next-generation consoles are not easily accessible since this writing, it makes sense to incorporate this feature into the game. In this way, gamers who do not yet have a PS5 or Xbox Series X can purchase a special NBA 75th Anniversary Edition or a multi-gene package, have access to both editions, and can transfer progress in the near future.
