Weapons will always be an exceptional feature in Ratchet and Clank, and Rift Apart is no exception. This game throws a huge amount of incredible weapons at you and you have to figure out which one you want to upgrade. All weapons take levels up just by using them, but you can also get a resource called Rareitanium.
It can be found hidden in many levels of the game and can be used in Mrs. Zurkon’s shops to improve your weapons and strengthen them. However, because you can only discover a limited number, you will want to focus on specific weapons during the upgrade.
The first weapon you get in the game, the Blast Pistol, can do the job from start to finish. It may not be flashy, but it is effective and a lot of ammunition will appear in the campaign. After a few levels, you’ll get a triple shot, making it fantastic for eliminating enemies, and you can upgrade it for faster projectile travel time, more headshot damage, and more ammunition.
Shatterbomb is great for damaging one target and dealing with hordes of enemies, and you can get it in the game very soon. Enhancing this beast to take advantage of the Second Shatter means that it triggers explosive chains and completely melts anything around you.
This makes the enemies plants, which means they can really save your bacon in a hard fight. Not only that, you can improve it, so defeating enemies that were in plant form, when they die, their health will be reduced.
Ricochet is a very fun weapon that again excels against groups of enemies. You should be able to get it pretty early in the game and it’s worth settling down and spending some time with it. The only downside is that the weapon is a bit greedy and you can’t easily switch to something else if you really want to use it.
You should jump on the Lightning Rod as soon as it appears in the store. This is just as good for damaging groups or bosses after some upgrades and is a real pull against harder enemies.
