While Outbreak may be the largest new addition to the Zombies in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, longtime alternative mode fans will always be drawn back to their round roots. Because Treyarch was so intensely focused on Outbreak, he let the community ask for a new round map. Fortunately, one is on the way in the form of Mauer Der Toten. Here you can expect to play a new map of Zombies.
Mauer Der Toten will debut Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies on July 15 as part of Season Four Reloaded. It will be a free update, as will the other maps in the game, which will take place in Berlin after the events of the second major search for Easter eggs in Outbreak. Below you can see the trailer for the new map.
In terms of story, Alpha Team will have to work for him to secure the life of their Raptor One pilot after being captured by Omega’s main honch Kravchenko. Looks like his second commander, Valentina, turned to him and he wants you to take her down. The trailer indicates her trying to resurrect an undead army, which is most likely related to the floating purple zombies. The main expedition of Easter eggs could revolve around hunting these (probably) powerful zombies and killing them.
The trailer is packed with so many game elements, including the return of the Perk-a-Cola Mule Kick, ziplines, running subway trains and a robot named Claus. You will fight at different altitudes from the subway to the nearby rooftops and like any other exciting zombie map, a new miracle weapon is on its way.
Mauer Der Toten is an exciting update for anyone waiting for Firebase Z’s new traditional Zombies map. It’s dark, bold, and seems to incorporate many new features into the Zombies’ history, such as many maps.
