In December 2020, Pokemon Go players discovered that storage capacity had increased from 3,500 to 4,000 Pokémon. But as the summer season in North America comes around the corner, Niantic has increased its maximum storage capacity six months after the previous expansion.
As already mentioned, the limit as of December 2020 was 4,000 Pokémon in Pokemon Go.
Effective June 4, Pokemon Go players can now deposit up to 4,500 Pokémon into play. This should be good news for avid gamers, as you can now store more Pokémon in the game without having to think about which Pokémon to convert. In addition, this expansion, along with the recent introduction of Pokemon HOME integration, should mean that players don’t have to worry so much about releasing a valuable Pokemon.
To upgrade their Pokemon Go storage limit, players can still pay 200 coins in the Pokemon Go store and upgrade the storage limit by 50. Coins can be obtained either by in-game purchase or by leaving one of your Pokemon in the Pokemon Gym. However, you can only earn 50 coins a day with this method.
