Guilty Gear Strive is the latest entry into a long-standing fighting game franchise to conclude an epic story and introduce a range of new mechanics, overhauls and new features. Prior to the worldwide release of Guilty Gear Strive on June 11, ArcSystemWorks developers Daisuke Ishiwatari and Akira Katano hosted a live broadcast of a premature access show that revealed a lot of brand new information about the title. It includes part of the content for the first season game.
According to the roadmap of the season, which was revealed during the live broadcast, several DLC characters are planned to be released. The first is released in July 2021 and is a character that has never been playable before. The second character scheduled for release in August 2021 is a returning veteran fighter. There are also three other fighters scheduled to be released sometime this fall. However, none of the DLC fighters has yet been officially appointed.
Exclusive to the season is a brand new story aptly titled “Another Story,” which, unlike most other DLC bonus content, cannot be purchased separately. The pass will also include two new combat phases and a package of new character colors, which can be purchased separately.
There is also free content that players can download regardless of whether they have a season subscription. Combo Maker mode allows players to upload their unique combo creations for other players to download, watch and learn from. Digital Figurine mode allows players to take portraits from a virtual diorama, a feature similar to that in the Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator.
