If you have completed the arcade mode of Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, you will know that Dural is an insidious opponent. Thanks to its strange energy attacks and depressing combos, this android will make trouble for you. Fortunately, Sega defeated this character very easily and won the “I win” trophy. Here’s how to do it.
What is Dural?
Dural is the last opponent you face after the sixth participant. He is a demanding boss who will give you only one chance to defeat him. Unlike the previous six matches, there is no way to continue and if you are defeated, it will bring you the game.
Improve the game to your advantage
You will have several options before starting the arcade mode. You can change the difficulty from very easy to very hard, depending on your playing style. The cheapest way to beat Dural is very easy. For a more fun experience, we recommend using Easy or Normal. Then speed up the process by reducing the number of rounds to 1. Rather than the 10 minutes that arcade mode kills by default, it will only take five minutes in one round. Keep in mind that if you lose to Dural, that’s it, so if you want some security, it might be wise to increase the setting to two rounds instead. You can also change the health bar, but we haven’t tested whether it affects the “I win” trophy eligibility, so keep that in mind.
Dural gets up, is close and personal. It triggers a rush of attacks, so don’t forget to block as many hits as possible. It will alternate between medium and low shots. Sweeping your feet with the R2 button can be especially useful as it shakes the Dural from its comfort zone. Eileen and Lion are especially useful in this situation, as sweeping them can cause considerable damage. If you read our basic moves guide, offensive attacks can be useful against Dural, as it leaves it wide open if you manage to get out of the reach of Dural quickly. By the way, don’t get too close, because Dural will start a devastating blast from the chest.
Overall, try to change in your attacks by a combination of punches and kicks in combination. Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown has a decent training mode called Command Training, which will guide you through each combination of the selected character.
When you finally beat Dural, you get the “I win” trophy. Unfortunately, Dural cannot be played at this time.
