When using the legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Go, you want to make sure you teach them the best attacks they can learn. These Pokémon rotate in-game availability, making them some of the better Pokémon you can use. While they have excellent statistics for backing up your power, if you choose the wrong set of moves, you won’t get the best benefits you could ever use. As for Registeel, he has an incredible defense and a great attack when you teach him the best movement set.
The register is a Steel Pokémon. It is weak against Fighting, Fire and Ground attacks, but is resistant to Poison, Steel, Rock, Psychic, Flying, Normal, Fairy, Grass, Ice and Dragon movements. Due to how many resistances it has, Registeel is an ideal Battle League Pokémon that you can use in the Grand or Ultra League.
These are all attacks that Registeel can learn.
- Lock On (normal type) – 1 damage and 5 energy per wheel (1 damage per wheel) – 1 wheel
- Metal Claw (Steel-type) – 5 damage and 3 energy per wheel (2.5 damage per wheel) – 2 turns
- Rock Smash (combat type) – 9 damage and 2.3 energy per round (3 damage per round) – 3 turns
- Flash Cannon (Steel-type) – 110 damage and 70 energy
- Focus Blast (combat type) – 140 damage and 75 energy
- Hyper Beam (normal type) – 150 damage and 80
Registeel has one quick move that he always wants to use in his set of moves: lock. This is a normal type of attack that deals only one damage, but generates five energies each time it is used. Thanks to this fast generation of energy, you can expect to use Registeel’s charged moves extremely often. This is a good thing because they are strong; it costs a lot of energy, which would normally be a disadvantage.
When it comes to charged strokes, Registeel usually wants to hold on to lightning and focus. Focus blast is probably the best choice of the two due to the scope of coverage for Registeel. In addition, it does even more damage than a lightning cannon. For an attack that costs just five more than a lightning bolt with a cannon, the focus blast is a useful addition to Registeel’s movement set. Unfortunately, this allows the hyper beam to dry.
If you use Registeel, you primarily want to use it as the last Pokémon on your Battle League roster. It’s a Pokémon that doesn’t rely on shields too often to be useful, allowing your other two Pokémon to be used without difficulty by your team. In addition, thanks to Registeel’s high defensive status and wide range of resistance, it is difficult to face Pokémon.
The best set for teaching Registeel is quick activation of the lock, followed by charged movements, lightning and shelling.
