The developer behind the award-winning GTA 5 VR modem has created a similar experience for Red Dead Redemption 2.
Luke Ross, creator of the celebrated GTA 5 VR model released last year, has returned to do the same Red Dead Redemption 2.
Now available in early access through Ross PatreonThe mod allows you to play the entire game Red Dead Redemption 2 in the first or third person, completely in VR. Video above from UploadVR shows the opening minutes of Red Dead Redemption 2 played entirely in VR.
The only way to approach the mod as it is is to support Luke Ross through Patreon. There is only one level: $ 10, which gives you access to the current version of Red Dead Redemption 2 mode and all future updates if you are a member.
Ross explained that it took him about six months to do the job, and that Patreon was the best way to support the job because he was doing it full time now. In the future, the modder wants to do the same for Cyberpunk 2077, Horizon Zero Dawn and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Because this is an early version of the mode, you may encounter several problems here and there. UploadVR records a significant amount of object trimming and camera control that is sometimes removed from the player.
