Whether it’s your first jump into Ratchet and Clank, or Rift Apart is just the latest entry into the series, this guide should contain some useful information to help you with this experience.
Read on to learn all the important information you need to know to get the most out of your game.
You can change the difficulty at any time
You can change the difficulty at any time to make the game more difficult or easier as you wish. Just press the options button and go to settings. Whether you’re fighting a boss or you’re in the mood for a more challenging challenge, you can always keep the difficulty level exactly where you want it.
If you can break something, you should do just that. Breaking generates screws, and screws are essential in the game. While boxes are undoubtedly the best goal, almost everything is fair as you walk through different areas. Screws are a currency that allows you to buy newspaper weapons, so you want as much as possible.
You can’t take it with you
There’s no point in sticking to the screws, so just jump on every change you get to buy things. New weapons are much more useful than a lot of screws in the pockets.
Switch weapons often
Weapons level up during use, so you don’t want to prioritize one type of weapon over another. Make sure you change weapons regularly to keep up with them. The last thing you want is to reach the ammo for your favorite weapon and you have nothing but level 1 equipment. You can also use a combination of different weapons, as some will cause a condition that will make the subsequent attack very easy and destructive.
You can either hit a triangle and trigger a weapon wheel, or set weapons on a D-pad for this sweet quick action.
Check your map often
Your map will light up as you explore it, so if you check it often and find that you’re missing an area, it’s worth exploring. This way you can find screws, secrets and collectibles. You can even move the cursor over the items and place a pin on them to get some game instructions where you want to go.
But that said …
Don’t worry, you can’t get something you find. Many of them can only be accessed later in the game when you have new equipment gadgets.
Use Rifts to move quickly in battles
When Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart get furious, it becomes a bit of a bullet, so using R1 on gold rifts to move quickly to new areas is a great way to avoid incoming damage.
It depends on upgrading the weapons
You can use a source called Rareitanium to upgrade weapons at Mrs. Zurkon’s merchants. You can get real value for money by purchasing all the nodes around the orange nodes on the upgrade grids, as this will unlock them.
If you want, you can skip the puzzles
Not everyone likes puzzles and Rift Apart lets you skip them if you want. If you encounter a puzzle, click the pause menu and you’ll see the option to skip it.
