In early June, Sony San Diego introduced two new Evolution Player programs this month: one for Hall of Fame catchers Gary Carter and the other for Cardinal legend Ozzie Smith. MLB Show 21 players can now try to reach 91 OVR players at the Baseball Hall of Famer, but be prepared to tackle some challenges to get started with this program.
How to complete the Evolution Ozzie Smith Player program
To get started, you’ll need to meet the Daily Moments challenges in the May Daily Moments program. There will be 30 chances to meet the daily challenge this month, and for most days, completing the challenge will bring one point to the June program. However, there will be random times when two points will be available, so you will definitely want to handle the daily challenge these days.
You will need to earn at least 10 points in the June Daily Moments program to begin Smith’s program. Why is that so? At 10 points, MLB The Show players unlock a deck of two cards. One is a rookie card 81 OVR Smith and the other is a rookie card Carter. You will need Smith’s rookie card to begin his program.
Once you pick up Smith’s card, you can start the player’s program. To unlock a 91 OVR card, you must earn 50 points in the program. To get there, you should do the following:
- Complete both moments of Phase 1 (10 points)
- Complete all moments of the 2nd stage (20 points)
- Complete two of the four missions of Stage 2
As with the Matt Kemp and Madison Bumgarner game programs, this program can be completed offline.
It will take some time to get there, but once you get a rookie Smith card, it should be smooth from then on.
