Pokémon Unite was a surprise to most people, including us. Team battle games pit teams of five players against each other, essentially Pokémon MOBA. This game will be released on both Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, so people are wondering if it will support crossplay.
The game will be released in July on the Nintendo Switch and will arrive on Mobile in September. Pokémon Unite will support crossplay and players on Switch and iOS / Android will be able to play each other. Teams can be made up of people on different devices, it won’t just compare teams of players on one device with another.
In addition to playing across platforms, Pokemon Unite will also include a cross-process where players can play on multiple devices in a single account and all their items and unlocks will be available to them. The only thing that will not travel between platforms are gems, which is a form of premium currency in the game.
Pokemon Unite is developed by TiMi and will include a number of Pokémon. You will fight on a Moba-style map and compete to score against each other. There will be an AI Pokémon that will fight and complete enemy targets to gain points. You can also raise levels, gain new abilities and even evolve. You can create a number of different builds for each Pokémon.
Pokémon will also have access to Special Unite Moves, powerful abilities that can fight in your favor. This game focuses a lot on teamwork and group play together.
It runs as a “free to start” game, giving you access to a small amount of content that you can play with others and see if you enjoy the game.
