Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is available on both the Nintendo Switch and the PC and is critically acclaimed on both systems. Now that you immerse yourself in this adventure, you should know if the game has features for different platforms or crossplay. Will you be able to play with your friends no matter what system they have, or will your wallet face the wrath of Capcom?
Do you play with friends?
Unfortunately, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin does not support cross platform or cross play at the time of writing. You can’t even transfer your saved content from the PC version to the Nintendo Switch if you wanted to play your game on the go.
There is currently no online feature between the two platforms, which means you can only play co-op or PvP with friends who have the same platform as you. You may want to buy a PC or Switch version for better graphics or more convenience, but you’ll need to start the character from scratch.
What can you even do online?
You can play Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin yourself without having to play online. With Match ID, you can sync your game with other players via the Quest Board, much like Monster Hunter Rise. Once there, you can go on missions together. PvP mode involves going against your Pokémon-style friends. These modes are simply complementary and are not required for the main game.
