A small dripleaf in Minecraft is difficult to obtain. Normally it would be generated in Lush Caves, but Lush Caves are not currently available in Minecraft 1.17. For this reason, the only way to get a Little Dripleaf is to interview a Wandering Trader. They will be willing to exchange you for one emerald.
When you place the Little Dripleaf down, it becomes a series of vineyards that grow out of the block and do not grow under it. You can only place them on top of clay and moss blocks, not on the bottom. There is a chance that the Little Dripleaf may reproduce on dirt, farmland, grass and podzol, but these blocks need to be underwater, unlike clay and moss.
If you want to move the Small Dripleaf to a new location, you must place it on one of the previously mentioned blocks. The only way to extract it from the block is to use scissors. Once laid, you can use bone meal to turn the Small Dripleaf into a Large Dripleaf.
The only way to turn a small Dripleaf into a large Dripleaf is bone meal. This plant will not naturally grow into one. You can wait as long as you want, but your Little Dripleaf will remain unchanged unless you use bone meal. If you have a Big Dripleaf, you can use it as a platform and jump to higher places, but if you stay on it for too long, you will fall.
