If you don’t know what you’re doing, making potions in Minecraft may seem a little complicated. For people who are very stuck in the basic game of Minecraft, you can only use potions that you can find in the wild. However, if you use your resources correctly, you can make your own potions and overpower yourself. Here’s how to make a Brewing Stand and how it works in Minecraft.
Before you can make a brewery stall, you must first collect three cobblestones and one Blaze Rod. If you don’t know where to find Blaze Rod, you can get him by killing Blaze in the underworld. If you have ingredients, prepare a cooking rack at the craft table. If you are using a grid, place the Blaze Rod in the upper middle slot and the three Cobblestone in the middle row. It should look like the screen below.
Once you have created your Brewing Stand, you can begin to collect the items needed to make potions. For starters, you will always need water bottles, Nether Wart and Blaze Powder no matter what you do. Blaze Powder powers the Brewing Stand, while the water bottles will be where your potions are made. Nether Wart makes your water bottles for awkward potions, which is the basis for making better potions.
Once you have the strength and bottles in the right place, gather the specific ingredients needed to make the potion. If you have them, place the Nether Wart in the top slot and wait for it to transfer to the water bottles.
When awkward potions are made, you can add your ingredient and turn them into another potion. To get the best ingredients, see our guide How to make the best Minecraft potions.
Depending on the potion you made, you can also add other elements to change the cooking. Gunpowder turns ordinary drinking potions into Splash Potions, which means you throw them away, and anything within range will be affected. Glowstone Dust, on the other hand, will take the base potion to the next level, making it more effective. Make sure you practice and research what items you need for your favorite potions.
