The Dripstone Block in Minecraft is a unique block that can have a pointed dripstone growing under it in your world. The pointed teardrop stone is a stalagmite, a sharp pointed stone hanging from a rock wall. In particular, these stones drip water down onto the floor of the cave and you can harvest this water by placing a boiler under it. It must have a source of water above it.
Rather than having Dripstone Blocks in caves, you can move and transfer them to different locations with the right tools. To make sure that you have mined the block correctly, you want to use a pickaxe on it. You will be able to harvest the block and then place it wherever you want. The lower part of the Dripstone Block forms a stalagmite object and at the top, where the water source is located, you will find stalactites. Dripstone Blocks can be found inside Dripstone Caves, which were not added in Minecraft 1.17. They have a rare chance to appear in other cave types or talk to Mason Villager, who has reached Journeyman. They will not always have the item available.
Alternatively, you can mine pointed dripstones and combine four of them to create a drip block. You can also get pointed gems by trading emeralds with Wandering Traders. They accept one emerald for two pointed gems.
This is a good way to provide a source of water for everything you want to water indoors. If you place it strategically over some crops, you can have them irrigated with pointed drip stones, but you must have a water source above the water blocks.
