Mauer Der Toten is the latest circular zombie map of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and is as good as any other zombie experience in the game. Its miraculous weapon is a lot of fun, there are lots of Easter eggs to find, and the map is unique in maintaining the dark and harsh vibrations you want from Call of Duty Zombies. However, there is a common problem where some parts of the map simply do not load correctly after it is released, forcing you to restart the game for a playable experience. Here’s how to fix Mauer Der Toten, which doesn’t load correctly in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies.
The loading issue seems to be exclusive to the Xbox Series X version of the game. Treyarch is aware of the issues it is trying to fix, perhaps soon.
When this happens to someone, the sound of dialogue from the characters is completely cut out of the game and parts of the map are not loaded. This makes playing the Mauer Der Toten much more complicated and unplayable under certain circumstances. For us, we had a Bar, a Grocery Store and the whole underground part of the map, just so we weren’t visible.
While Treyarch is working to find a fix for the loading issue, there is a solution you can do, even if it involves removing HD textures from the game. The latest update for the Xbox Series X seems to have problems loading these textures.
Quit the game and press the Menu button on the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War tile. Go to Manage Game and Add-ons and select a game to manage the content downloaded for the game. You will find the HD Textures package in the list of installed content. Click it, and then press Save Changes to have your console delete this file.
This may not be a perfect fix and the game won’t look so sharp, but you can always go back to the same place and reinstall the package if you want them back.
