One of the most interesting additions brought to Minecraft by the update of Caves & Cliffs Part 1 is Axolotls. This crowd is located in the waters of dark caves. If you are lucky enough to find them, they can be bred if you want to create more. That means you don’t expect them to be treated with easy-to-manage resources like wheat or carrots, it’s a little more than that. Here’s how to keep the Axolotl crowd in Minecraft.
Axolotls love tropical fish. Players can lure and breed Axolotls using a bucket of tropical fish. Feeding one bucket to each parent will cause the Axolotl baby to be raised. In addition to children’s Axolotls, the player will also gain experience in the range of 1 to 7 points.
Axolotls come in five different colors, and generally Axolotl inherits the color of one parent at random. You can’t mix colors like sheep. The only exception to this rule is if you get a rare blue Axolotl, which is a mutation that can come from any Axolotl at a 1/1200 chance.
Adults can be kept every 5 minutes. Baby Axolotls grow to 20 minutes, but this time can be reduced by 10% for each bucket of tropical fish you feed them. When you feed them 10 buckets in a row, they will grow into adults without waiting.
