When launched, grinding all of your heroes to level 50 in Marvel’s Avengers would mean the end of the series when it comes to adding skills to their sets. While you could still increase the number of these performance levels, there was no reason to earn more XP for your characters. But thanks to the new system of champions launched during the Red Room Takeover, the process doesn’t have to end there. Players can now gain XP champions and new skills for their heroes.
By gaining more XP (CXP) champions through regular activities and combat, players build up the level of champions of their characters. Each hero will have their own amount of Champion XP and progressive tracks. Your hero’s champion level will appear on their nameplate, just below their traditional level. After gaining a champion level for a character, you gain one champion skill point, which can be converted to a champion skill.
You can find the skills of the champions on the Skills tab in the menu and this option is directly at the level of your control skills. You will see a large grid divided into Combat Boosts, Tactical Boosts, Utility Boosts and Defensive Boosts. All this will permanently increase the performance of your characters – Combat Boosts will increase your damage, Tactical Boosts will increase your chances of critical and state damage, Utility Boosts will increase charging speed and elemental effects, and Defensive Boosts will focus on Willpower / HP recovery.
Keep in mind that you can’t re-specify these champion skills (at least for now, as the developer of Crystal Dynamics says), which means you can’t redistribute where these points are going, so proceed with caution and confidence. For players who have not yet reached level 50, they can use Hero’s Catalysts to enhance their XP progress; You can usually find these Trend Catalysts for free on the Marketplace.
