Rocksmith + is Ubisoft’s “interactive music subscription service” that teaches players to play the guitar. The title builds on the original Rocksmith, which was launched in 2011, although this version will be based on a subscription. For those who signed up for the PC beta during E3 2021, emails began to come with instructions on how to run and play the beta.
The first step is to start the Ubisoft Connect PC client. For those who may not already have it installed, it should have an email link called “Download Ubisoft Connect”. Then download and open the client and log in to your Ubisoft account. Rocksmith + will be in the library automatically (because you have previously signed up for the beta) and will be ready to download.
Then players can connect their acoustic, electric or bass guitar in two ways. The first and easiest is to download the Rocksmith + Connect mobile app from the App Store or Play Store. The second way is to connect your guitar directly using a Real Tone Cable, which is an option for guitars with a 1/4 inch connector.
Once connected, you can simply start playing; you can also visit official forums. Those who are already in beta can also invite their friends via the “Invite friends” button in the email. And for those who try the beta, there’s another bonus. If you participate, you will receive a three-month free subscription when you subscribe to a 12-month subscription, or one month’s free if you subscribe to a three-month subscription.
If you haven’t signed up for the beta yet, the registration period ends on July 22, so there’s still plenty of time. And if you need help with that, check out our PC beta registration guide.
