The AI Teammate Experience upgrade will be free to all players and will consist of a brand new progression loop that will allow you to upgrade your AI teammates, earn rewards and unlock challenges to complete. You will then be able to upgrade your AI teammates, which will unlock tactical upgrades.

Teammates will now have a common team level and a common XP bar called Team XP, which can be improved by simply playing the game with activated AI teammates or completing teammate challenges.

To track your teammates’ progress, you’ll find a new progress bar at the top of the screen that shows acquired XP, Nomad’s level meter, and teammate’s level meter.

Once your teammates have settled, an animation will appear on the screen informing you of the newly unlocked upgrades. 14 new challenges will also be completed, which will reward Team XP and cosmetic rewards.

To upgrade and customize your teammates, go to the dedicated menu. It shows XP at the teammate level, upgrades and challenges. You can unlock 14 upgrades for AI teammates. These include:

  • Three active abilities unique to each teammate, including Piercing Shot, Scan and Combat Drone
  • Two active abilities shared between teammates, including Extra Revival and Fragmentation Grenades
  • Nine passive abilities to increase damage or endurance

Update 4.0.0 introduces the ability to customize your team with one, two, or three teammates, customize Rainbow teammates, hide AI teammates’ secondary weapon, and more.

Title Update 4.0.0 is the first of two updates announced as part of Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s Year 2 Roadmap. The second is Title Update 4.1.0, which is one of the “largest operations yet” and will be released in the fall.

Further details on the autumn update will be announced later.
