Epitomized Path arrives in Genshin Impact with the 2.0 update, which brings players a new way to get powerful gear. Epitomized Path allows players to get the specific 5-star weapon they want to use. Basically, this will increase the likelihood of this item falling from the Epitome Invocation banner.
While this does not guarantee that players will receive the item, it will significantly increase their chances of doing so. The mechanic will be added in version 2.0 and will allow players to choose a weapon and then “map the course” to it on the Epitome Invocation wish page.
From this point on, each time a player receives a 5-star weapon that is not the one for which he has set a course, he receives a Destiny Point. It is possible to hold up to two fate points at once. When a player gains two Fate Points, it is guaranteed that the next 5-star weapon they gain will be the one they want. Once they gain the target weapon, its fate points are reset.
Destiny points can only be earned after a player maps a course to an Epitomized Path, so it is important that all players set this after running Genshin Impact 2.0. Players will be able to cancel and reset the weapon they are going for, but this will also reset the fate points. Eventually, fate points are reset at the end of the Epitome Invocation banner period, so players should make sure they target the banner to take advantage of it.
