Warzone will soon make better use of the power of the new consoles.
Call of Duty: WarzoneAs with most other games released for the PS4 and Xbox One, it is possible to play on the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S thanks to backward compatibility. But since the release of the new consoles, Warzone has not been updated to actually take advantage of their features.
On the Xbox Series X, gamers technically enjoy support at 120 frames per second, but this feature has undergone an unannounced fix that also prevents Warzone from taking full advantage of the power of the new hardware, while offering some benefits. Nothing has come true on the PS5 yet.
However, according to Raven Software developer, this will not be the case for long. Speak with Charlie Intel, the studio’s creative director, Amos Hodge, has confirmed that Raven is working on native Warzone support for the PS5 and Xbox Series X, which will arrive through fixes.
These fixes will allow proper support of 120 frames per second, as well as faster loading using internal SSD consoles. Hodge did not say when players could expect to see these updates, but revealed that Raven has his own “specialized technology team” tasked with updating and developing Warzone technology.
Many people believed that Season 3, which kicked off last night after the second part of the game, would be the one that would eventually allow Warzone to natively support the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. stands.
The biggest new addition to season 3 is, of course, the 80’s update on Verdansk. The new season also brought new weapons, a new battle passport and Warzone’s largest balance sheet to date.
