Borderlands 3 Typhon Logs – How to open locked chests
Pandora Typhon Logs
Borderlands 3 The Droughts Typhon Logs
There are a total of three Typhon Logs in The Droughts. Only when you find all three can you open the locked chest.
The first northwest of the makeshift Crimson Raiders base in The Droughts – we’ve marked it on the map below:
It is on the edge of a ridge overlooking the spine of a giant monster in the distance.
The second is in the middle of the Skaga’s nest on the eastern side of the area.
You have to climb to the top of some rocks to get to it.
The final Typhon Log is the most difficult to access. It can only be reached during the “Takeing Flight” story mission, so play the main mission if you haven’t already.
You will find the log overlooking the edge of the cliff at the back of the camp, where you will find the Space Nav Chip.
Once you find all three, you will unlock the location of the Typhon Dead Drop – the locked chest.
How to open a locked chest
Once you find all three logs, go to the west side of the map marked in the image below:
The chest is in the back corner of this subarea and is guarded by a tough enemy. It is also where you will find the goal of the Big Succ quest.
Borderlands 3 Ascension Bluff Typhon Logs
Typhon Logs in Ascension Bluff is not too hard to find if you know where to look. The first is on your right when you head forward from the entrance to the complex.
It looks over the edge of the map:
The second is a little further down the road and also looks down from the cliff, but towards the COV camp:
Finally, the third Typhon Log is south of the second, near the Path of Sacrifice:
The Dead Drop typhon is then just before the entrance to the COV camp, inside the shipping container:
Promethea Typhon Logs
Borderlands 3 Meridian Outskirts Typhon Logs
Once you reach the second fast travel point on the Meridian Outskirts, go a little further forward and look to the left. There’s a bandit camp built into the bridge. Go to the south side, behind the elevator, and wrap yourself in a ledge to get to the bridge part of the camp. The Typhon Log is on the side of the ledge, so you’ll have to look down and fall on it:
The second Typhon Log is close to the first. Just northwest:
The last Typhon Log is around the corner in the second part of Spillways and looks back at the road where the Radio Tower is called:
You will then find the Dead Drop type in the civilian part of the area. Find the elevator near the marker on the map. Let it go down, but jump up. Then call him back and jump on him before he reaches you:
Borderlands 3 Meridian Metroplex Typhon Logs
There are three more Typhon Logs in the Merdian Metroplex. The first is on the east side of town overlooking the subway:
The Second Typhon Log is in the extreme west of the city, next to the Meridian Mercantile:
The last one is up in the northern part of the map in front of the bandit camp:
Then you can find the Typhon Dead Drop in the middle of the city, but to get to the top, you have to go to the square with the Lectra City map crossing, jump to the wall on the right and run over to the cache:
Borderlands 3 Lectra City Typhon Logs
In Lectra City, there are three more Typhon Logs in remarkable areas of the map, which are associated with the Killavolt task. The first is on a small island at the end of the docks:
The second in close proximity overlooking the Big Dock Energy on the mainland:
The last Log is on the roof of The Hills, where you’re fighting another token carrier in front of Killavolt. To get there, you have to jump to the top of the roof:
You will also need to do another parkour to get to the Dead Drop. Located in the center of the map:
Borderlands 3 Skywell-27 Typhon Logs
Skywell-27 has some of the strangestly hidden Typhon Logs we’ve seen so far. You will probably get a mark for the first in Maliwan Modulars before you get to it. To access you must go to the next area and go inside the tunnel marked “1” to get to the room:
The second Typhon Log is in the area with stabilizing nozzles, on some ledges you have to jump. To get to this area from the default area, you must go through the maintenance corridor:
Finally, the last is the most disgusting. Once you jump down the shaft to the bottom area, you will probably find a mark for the last protocol. To get there, you have to go left, climb the ladder and then cover the ledges on it:
The dead drop is then also located in the lower area, it is only at the end of the corridor:
Borderlands 3 Atlas HQ Typhon Logs
At Atlas headquarters, the first Typhon Log is upstairs on a balcony overlooking the area where you are first fighting Maliwan. To get there, you have to run all the way, through Ratches and back to the other side:
The second is on the second floor when you go to the labs:
And the last Typhon Log is on the right balcony, where you fight with turrets:
Then Dead Drop is back on the second floor of the lab:
Borderlands 3 Neon Arterial Typhon Logs
There are three Typhon Logs in Neon Arterial, but they are quite easy to find because the area is so linear. The first is on the left as soon as you get to the area:
Continue forward on the Neon Arterial until you reach the vending machines, and then look at the ledge on the right in the area after:
Then the last one on the left side of the road to the end of the area:
Typhon Dead Drop is then right after:
Borderlands 3 Athenas Typhon Logs
Athenas is a really large area, but still has only three Typhon Logs to find. The first is in the Stormhaven Square sub-area, at the top of the building, near the beginning of the level:
Then the second in the cemetery sub-area, Dido’s Remorse:
The final Typhon Log can then be found in the vault after the fight with Captain Traunt:
Eden-6 Typhon Logs
Borderlands 3 Floodmoor Basin Typhon Logs
The swampy planet Eden-6 is home to a vast area of Floodmoor, where three more Typhon Logs can be found in the undergrowth. To get to the first Typhon Log, go north from the first quick travel point to Mudhaven. The protocol is on an elevated structure overlooking a pool of water:
In the center of the map you will find the second log near the bridge that leads to the prison:
Finally, you’ll find the latest Typhon Log on the extreme northwest of the map, near the jail:
The dead drop is then in the northeast of the map, set behind the cottage:
Borderlands 3 The Anvil Typhon Logs
Inside Anvil Prison you will come across three more Typhon Logs. Once you are in the first area, there is a protocol on the raised structure on the left:
The second is a little off the beaten path. When you meet Meatslab, it opens the door for you to meet a demolition expert. But before you go this route, there is a side road that you can enter full of enemy monsters. Inside is the Typhon Log:
Finally, you’ll find another log on the sidewalk at The Yard. You must use the outer part of the structure to slip on the platform at the top:
In addition to vending machines with a demolition expert, Dead Drop is:
Borderlands 3 Jakobs Estate Typhon Logs
Typhon Logs in Jakobs Estate are quite straightforward, but there are big gaps between where you can find them. From the starting point for a quick trip you will find the first log near Murl in Leerly Hamlet:
To get the second Typhon Log, just get to the gates on the outside of the Manor and look to the left:
The last Typhon Log overlooking the Cabaret Theater, where you fight Billy, the Anointed:
Then you can pick up Dead Drop just around the corner:
Borderlands 3 Voracious Canopy Typhon Logs
Although it looks like a large area, you don’t really last that long on the Voracious Canopy map. In addition, there is a whole side path with two Typhon Logs, which is completely unmissable, and the one that is one of your paths to the goal of the story is well hidden.
First, take the Typhon Log on the left fork of the road from the point where you enter the area. It’s quite difficult to get there. Look at the crashed part of the spaceship and then look to the left – there should be some glowing purple trees and some ledges that you can shatter with the button of the mantle and try to climb:
The second Typhon Log is further along this left fork. Once you get to the scientific facility, you will see an arched structure. The log overlooks the left side of the dome:
Finally, the last Typhon Log is on the Family Jewel. Fight your way to the second set of vending machines, then look to the right – there should be a side passage where you can climb up. This leads to the private spaces of Jakobs and Typhon Log:
Then you can find Dead Drop in the far west of the area:
Borderlands 3 Ambermire Typhon Logs
Ambermire is a huge area, but fortunately Typhon Logs is not too hard to find. The first is just above the point where you enter the area, in the middle of the jungle:
You will find the second Typhon Log right after you visit Rogue’s hideout in the middle of the area. Just wander forward from where you jumped out the window and you’ll see a Log next to some Eridian Writing:
Then the last Typhon Log for the area is back closer to hiding, but previously was inaccessible due to a locked gate. This time it’s on a raised platform in swampy water:
Your last stop in this area is Typhon Dead Drop, which you will find on the edge of the docking area in the upper left corner of the map:
