Each of the 9 races in Ashes of Creation has unique strengths and weaknesses. Here is our list of the best.
The Dunir dwarves are, unfortunately, a little too limited in their skills and we won’t find them well suited for roles other than refueling – even though they excel at it and are by far the best Paladins.
Nikua dwarves, like their distant cousins Dunir, are not really able to excel in PCBs or supporting roles, and instead thrive mostly as off-tanks. Although compared to Dunir, they have better talents for hybrid classes, especially in PvP.
Kaelar is good at what he does, but their particular combination of magic and tank statistics is hard to use well.
Ren’Kai excel as tanks and fighters and make decent summoners, but they don’t fit well with some of the best classes in the game, which is why we put them so low on this list.
The Vaelune are a large general race that excels as Rogue and Bards, but as a class of Jack-of-All-Trades, we must place them in the middle of this list.
The Py’Rai elves are the best rangers, with ample ability to excel in various hybrid classes, including many of Bard’s secondary archetypes.
Empyrean Elves are by far the best wizards in Ashes of Creation and are especially well-suited for the Archwizard class, which we consider to be one of the best, if not the best, DPS classes in the game.
These orc astrologers are perfect for classes of hybrid magicians and excel at soloing PvE content. They are especially suitable for classes like Spellsword and are difficult to overcome in PvP.
Tulnar are unique – they are a combination of all the other races that emanate from the underworld. Their versatility is greater than any other race, which is why we have placed them at number 1 on the list, as they are likely to be used in surprising and innovative strategies for PvP content.
