Unlike previous Halo games on the console, Halo Infinite allows Xbox players to adjust the field of view (FOV). As the name suggests, this setting will determine how many environments players will be able to see – customizing your FOV may have some gaming and competitive advantage, but it all depends on the player’s personal comfort and preferences. Halo Infinite is on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC, and how you want to customize the FOV may depend on what platform you are for technical reasons.
How to set up FOV in Halo Infinite
Find the FOV settings in the Halo Infinite settings menu – press Menu / Start on the Xbox and F1 on the keyboard PC to open Control Panel and select Settings. Go to the Video tab and the field of view will be the first option in the Display section. The default FOV is 78, with a minimum of 65 and a maximum of 120.
The best FOV setting for Halo Infinite on Xbox One
Because Xbox One is the least powerful platform for Halo Infinite, you don’t want to set up your FOV for anything also high – with more rendering on the screen, the game can fight a bit more with performance. It may not be obvious to everyone, but it’s not ideal no matter what. If you just want to expand your comfort a bit, try something from the series 85 to 100.
The best FOV setting for Halo Infinite on the Xbox Series X / S
The more powerful Xbox Series X and S consoles will be easier to render all the visuals of Halo Infinite, so you can be a little bolder in hitting your vision cone. Try setting between 100 and 110, but it is worth experimenting with setting the FOV to max.
The best FOV settings for Halo Infinite on a PC
How you adjust your FOV to a PC will depend entirely on your specifications. If you play Halo Infinite on the most powerful machines above the recommended specifications, your best option is to adjust the FOV to close to or maximum 120. Otherwise, follow the recommendations for other platforms, unless your GPU is just performing at that performance and instead approaching consoles.
