There are three unique legendary Pokémon that you can fight in five-star raids in Pokémon Go. But they are limited in their ability to fight them, so when you have the opportunity to capture them during raids, you will want to go out of their way. These Pokémon return to Pokémon Go at the start of the discovery season, and Regirock is the first of three to appear on June 1.
Regirock is a rock-type Pokémon. It is weak for Fighting, Grass, Ground, Steel and Water movements, but is resistant to Fire, Flying, Normal and Poison attacks. We strongly recommend leaning toward Earth and Water Pokémon to withstand its heavy attacks.
Pokémon count to Regirock
The best Pokémon facing Regirock in five-star raids are Machamp, Swampert and Mega Blastoise.
Machamp is a combat type of Pokémon and one of the most powerful you can use in the game. He’s a direct opponent to Regirock, and while he may not have the best defense, he’s a great choice for doing a lot of damage. He has a maximum CP of 3,056, an attack of 196, a defense of 137 and a stamina of 175. The best movement set for Machampa is against his fast movement and then for chop random moves he will cross chop and rock. You don’t want it to be first on your list, but it can wrap a huge punch.
You also have Swampert, a Earth and Water Pokémon. The only weakness he has is Grass strokes, so you’re safe from Regirock to take advantage of it, and thanks to his excellent stroke pool, it’s a great choice. It has a maximum CP of 2,974, an attack of 176, a defense of 150 and an endurance of 189. The best movement set you can have on it will have a shot from the mud for its fast movement, followed by a water cannon and an earthquake. If you have a shadow version, now is a good time to use it and Swampert is long enough for some coaches to get XL candies.
The last choice is Mega Blastoise, a water-type Pokémon. It’s a Mega Evolution of Blastoise and will have plenty of firepower to give Regirock a short job during the raid. He has a maximum CP of 3,941, an attack of 220, a defense of 199 and a stamina of 160. While it may not have a lot of health for combat, you can’t spoil his brute strength. The best movement set he can use will have a water pistol for its fast movement and then a water cannon and an ice jet for its ammunition movements. Regular Blastoise is also a decent choice if you want to use it.
Other Pokémon you want to use in this fight include Venusaur, Conkeldurr, Lucario, Metagross, Torterra, Kyogre, Groudon, Mewtwo, Latios, Rhyperior, Hariyama and Dialga. Alternatively, Mega Gyarados would be a good choice if you want to use Mega Pokémon in this encounter.
